An alliance is a group of up to ten guilds allied together under a single banner, for the
purposes of communication and player versus player.
Forming an alliance
New alliances may only be formed by a guild leader who owns the Guild Wars Factions
campaign and has pledged his allegiance to either the Luxons or the Kurzicks. To join the
Luxon or Kurzick alliance, the guild leader needs to travel to the corresponding capital
city (House zu Heltzer for Kurzick, Cavalon for Luxon.) and pay a tribute of 500 to the
representing ambassador.
The guild will then become the leader of the alliance, and the guild leader of that guild
will become the leader of the alliance.
Joining an alliance
Up to ten guilds may inhabit an alliance at any given time. To join an alliance, the guild
in question must be invited by the alliance leader, at a cost of 1 . Guilds cannot ask to
join an alliance - they must be invited.
In an alliance
Upon joining an alliance, a guild will gain access to a number of new features.
Members of different guilds can communicate with each other though the alliance chat.
Members of different guilds can access each others' guild halls.
Members of all guilds can participate in alliance battles for Kurzick or Luxon faction.
This can be traded in for alliance faction, which is used to control ownership of towns.
A Kurzick player can get a guest invite into a Luxon guild, then do Alliance Battles for
the Luxons, and vice versa. This will not give you Kurzick faction.
If your alliance owns one of the capitals (House zu Heltzer or Cavalon), you can gain
access to the elite missions Urgoz's Warren and The Deep (Kurzick and Luxon respectively).
Alliance faction
Your alliance faction depends on how much faction each guild in that alliance has. Gaining
faction of your alignment will allow you to purchase an item from a Luxon Scavenger or
Kurzick Bureaucrat. These NPCs will also ask if you would like to donate faction. You need
5,000 faction of one allegiance to donate. Your alliance faction will be raised by 5,000
for donating 5,000 faction, and your corresponding allegiance rank will progress with
10,000 points. Also, to keep you on your toes, 10% of your alliance faction is deducted
every day.
If a guild leaves the alliance, any faction that guild contributed with will be lost.
